Storm roof damage signs to watch for

Some roof damage is obvious. Some is not. These are common signs Oregon property owners can look for safely from the ground or inside the home.

Hail signs

Dented gutters, vents, downspouts, roof flashing, AC fins, or visible granule piles near downspouts.

Wind signs

Missing, lifted, creased, shifted, or curled shingles after a wind event.

Leak signs

Ceiling stains, damp attic decking, musty smells, bubbling paint, or new drips.

What helps an inspector

  • Approximate storm date or timeframe.
  • Roof age if known.
  • Photos from the ground or inside the property.
  • Whether a claim has already been started.

Important disclaimer

Damage findings, repair needs, insurance coverage, and claim outcomes depend on professional inspection, policy terms, carrier review, and documentation. No outcome is promised here.

Request a storm roof inspection call

If a Bend or Central Oregon roof may have seen hail, wind, gutter dents, granule loss, lifted shingles, skylight concerns, or flashing damage, use the call to organize safe observations and decide whether an inspection is appropriate.
